V-Day Partay!

I love holidays! It's so fun to get together with your friends &/or family and celebrate.
So, when Valentine's Day was coming up I thought maybe I should have a little play-date party at my house. Doing such a thing requires having a clean house and baking/cooking- which are enjoyable once you finish the work, but the process of getting there? Not so much. I decided that the end result would be worth it and quickly sent out an e-mail to my friends before I changed my mind.
Turns out it was worth it (phew).
I accomplished 3 important things:
-Gave my house a good clean
-Baked, and decorated (just a little bit), and
-Got to spend time with a few of my lovely friends

The kids all wore red or pink.

I ate approximately 2,825 calories worth of goodies, fruit, and chips.
Oh, and K tried out a new hat.

Polka Dots, Pink, and Flowers!

One thing I'm always kicking myself for is not taking enough pictures. Well, I decided little A was due for some cute photos. There's a lot going on here (it's easy to get carried away with fun girly stuff), but I still think she's absolutely adorable.

It's a (Frozen) Marshmallow World in the Winter

Well, here in West Texas we don't see a lot of snow, but after several days of light precipitation and sub-freezing temperatures there is still a bit of snow on the ground. The boys had fun at pre-school today. K's class got to eat Pizza in their Pajamas for the letter P. On the way home from school they requested that we build a snow man. Texas snow doesn't pack very well, but we decided to give it a try. It was about 16 degrees outside, so we decided to make a mini version. Nothing impressive about this guy (except perhaps his unique blueberry eyes), but we did have fun. Hopefully we can return to spring like weather in the next few days.

Oh, and please ignore the Christmas lights, obviously that's what I do.

I did also make it to the gym. I must admit my workout was only 40 minutes due to the damage that was done yesterday with 30 Day Shred. I can't believe how sore I am from a 20 minute workout!
By the time I returned to the Kid's Club tonight, E had already put on his snow boots (on the wrong feet, of course). I guess we were both ready to go home.

Happy 30th Birthday G!

Well, today was G's 30th birthday. Yes, we are getting old. Now that one of us has branched into a third decade we are like real adults (kind of).
Since I baked a cake for his birthday last year, I wanted to try something new. On my latest visit with my sister in NM she showed me how to make cake truffles.

I made a strawberry cake (from a box), mixed it with cream cheese frosting, rolled the mixture into balls, and dipped the cake balls in melted milk chocolate. I added silver sugar on top for fun.

I thought it would be fun to make 30 of them and my sister gave me the idea to shape them into a "30". The boys helped me make this fun poster.

These babies were very rich, but I think G liked them.

 Happy Birthday Babe!!
